Add Lips — a conceptual visual exploration of identity, expression, and amplified emotion.
Add Lips is a minimal black and white illustration series built around characters without lips. The absence becomes the concept — emotion, tension, and narrative are expressed entirely through form, posture, and composition rather than speech.
Add Lips
This project explores how illustration can communicate without literal expression. By removing lips, the characters are stripped of direct speech, forcing emotion and meaning to emerge through gesture, contrast, and visual rhythm. The interpretation is completed by the viewer — imagination becomes the final layer of the artwork.

Add.Lips questions how much of communication depends on visible expression. By eliminating lips, the illustrations rely on perception — the viewer instinctively fills the silence with their own emotional reading.
The project evolves through experimentation, refining symbolic structure and visual rhythm across iterations.
Add.Lips remains open-ended — a platform for continuous reinvention and expressive reinterpretation.
